Rumours
Former Kerry great Páidí Ó Sé believes that Brian Mullins is a virtual ’shoo-in’ to replace Paul Caffrey at the Dublin football helm.
Ó Sé, who led the Kingdom to All-Ireland glory in 1997 and 2000 was being touted as a possible successor to Paul Caffrey shortly after Dublin’s All-Ireland quarter-final collapse against Tyrone.
However, that situation never materialised and Ó Sé believes is confident Dublin have already decided on Mullins for the job.
“I think Mullins will be the next trainer with the Dublin team,” Ó Sé said.
“I think he’ll be the next manager. I don’t think there was ever a situation where Dublin would be considering going outside their own county.”
Ó Sé conluded by saying that Mullins, the ex-Dublin midfielder would “be a very popular choice for the Dubs”.
